The Walk-In | Our Story
The story.
The Walk-In grew out of the shared, point of view of designer Mary Sanders Ferriss Cavicchi and chef Damien Cavicchi. Their approach to both food and space mixes influences, eras, flavors, and ideas that might not seem obvious together but somehow work in an old warehouse walk-in cooler in Downtown Jackson.
The space
Part cocktail bar, part living room, part curiosity cabinet. Settle into a peacock chair by the fireplace, grab a table among the bookshelves, pull up a velvet stool at the lime green bar, or head outside to our brick courtyard. Nothing matches perfectly and that’s exactly the point.
The bar
Behind the chartreuse bar, a surrealist mural by artist Gavin Bird sets the tone - colorful, unexpected, and a little offbeat. The cocktails follow suit, with creative house originals, well-made classics, and a zero-proof menu that gets just as much attention. Come for a drink. Stay for another.
The menu
Kung pao bao buns, bulgogi grilled cheese, gochujang pimento cheese, and a pu pu platter loaded with crab rangoon, char siu pork belly, and duck meatloaf skewers. Built for sharing — which is exactly the point.
The drinks
Bold and creative pours built to linger over — and a zero-proof menu crafted with the same intention. Good flavor doesn't require a spirit.
The community
Karaoke Mondays, Needle Drop vinyl sessions, Drink & Draw, Brunch & Yoga, Paella on the Patio — there's always something on. Open Monday–Saturday, 4 p.m. to midnight.
